Club life quite popular at Patrick Henry High School

by Michelle Irwin

Well, can you believe it! We have been in session for 11 weeks!

Our teachers are planning rigorous and relevant lessons for our students each day. Our students are engaged not only in academics but also school life. Our students have created a variety of clubs that are open to any Henry student.

Some of the clubs are:

Black Student Union

GSA Club

Rock Band Club

Patriot Press Club

Greenpeace Club

Circle of Friends Club

MEChA Club

Key Club

Community Service Club

Knit Happens Club

Photography Club

Surfrider Club

This is just a handful of clubs that we offer.

Along with clubs, we also offer Academic Labs (Tutoring Sessions) for students Tuesdays-Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the library. Any student can access these labs to get support from our teachers and students from our Link Crew.

College Application Workshops: Our counselors will be supporting our seniors on their college applications between Nov. 14-17 in the computer lab at lunch time. The workshop is open to all interested seniors who may need some assistance or clarification with the application process.

Congratulations to our fall student athletes!

Our student athletes worked tirelessly to support their teams this past season.

Congratulations to Anna Pallencaoe and Kate Prichard (pictured above) for winning the Western League doubles girls’ tennis championship. Also, our girls’ volleyball team earned a spot in the CIF playoffs. Our winter season begins in January and we are looking forward to the new season. Way to go Patriots!

Patrick Henry Foundation

Thank you Patrick Henry Foundation for hosting at 4.0+ GPA breakfast for our students last month! It was a huge success and a great way to honor and recognize our students.

The PHHS Foundation is our own school’s non-profit support organization, like the PTA, PTO, or other school support organizations. The Foundation would like to thank those who have become members and have donated to our membership drive! Remember every dollar raised supports our faculty and student body! If you have any questions, e-mail phhspatriotfoundation@gmail.com or go online at: patrickhenryhighfoundation.org. Hope to see you at our monthly 6:30 p.m. third Thursday meetings in the PHHS main office conference room.
