The Social Diary – A palatial wedding, and birthday blowout!

It was royal wedded bliss as mega smart and DNA-blessed Drs. Patricia Ojeda and Mazen Zawaideh exchanged vows before friends and family at the uber-exclusive Zephyr Palace in Costa Rica. Off the charts would be the warm-up description as five days of five-star celebrating got underway. Among the mix were music star Lena Zawaideh (Mazen’s sister) in Alexander McQueen, and Mazen’s parents May and Emad. May was glowing in Dona Matoshi and a floral hat by La Jolla Village News’ own Diana Cavagnaro, and Emad in Dolce & Gabbana.

The wedding dinner had such enticements as lobster and shrimp bisque with a touch of Pernod, lobster tail, with fresh spaghetti, and duo of Tiramisu and banana crepes with blackberry coulis.

By the way, newlyweds are quite the duo. Mazen is a neuroradiologist and Patricia is a musculoskeletal radiologist. Best wishes to you two!

Meanwhile, hometown’s favorite Emmy-Award-winning news anchor and Women’s Museum board member Sandra Maas celebrated birthday blessings with friends and husband Jim Burgess at the Solterra Winery & Kitchen. Among the mix were Carrie Woodland, Sophia Alsadek, and Andrea Naversen Wait. And yes, our shot is in vintage Gianni Versace tails!
